Ollie Himalayan Lavender Oil
Ollie Himalayan Lavender Oil
Description
Himalayan Lavender Oil is produced by steam distilling flowers that grow at an altitude of 1100 metres, in the beautiful Kashmir region of India.
Lavender oil is one of the most popular essential oils in the world, and it is widely used for its relaxing and calming properties.
Lavender has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. It can kill the bacteria that cause acne and inflammation, relieves itching, a common symptom of skin problems such as eczema.
Best of all, lavender reduces stress and promotes sleep, which are both great for your skin and hair.
How to use
Lavender oil is widely used for its calming properties. Some use it to make their own perfume, and others just place a few drops on their pillow before going to bed.
The most popular way to use Ollie's lavender oil is to diffuse it in the air before you sleep for a restful night. Some Ollie-lovers find pure lavender oil too floral-smelling, so we recommend balancing it out with other oils.
Lavender essential oil has antiseptic and anti inflammatory properties, making it useful for treating minor bug bites and burns.
Lavender consumed as tea is beneficial for soothing upset stomach, excessive gas, nausea or vomiting, owing to its digestive properties.
Lavender oil is a great addition to your soaps and shampoos as well. Add a couple of drops and you not only have an antifungal agent in there, but also a wonderfully smelling product! Recent studies show that lavender aromatherapy is effective in reducing premenstrual emotional symptoms. Where is it sourced?
Lavender oil is steam-distilled from the flowers of the hardy shrub, Lavendula angustifolia. At Ollie, we source lavender flowers and oil distillers from small-scale growers in the remote mountainous regions of Kashmir in the Himalayas. The beautiful, pristine Kashmir region is home to the best quality, organically grown lavender. With its highland location, it still has not seen the pollution or commercialization that plagues the rest of our world.
Caution
Like any essential oil, Himalayan lavender oil should also never be used undiluted as it can result in skin irritation and burns. Always dilute lavender oil before using topically. A good rule of thumb is several tablespoons of carrier oil to one drop of lavender essential oil.
