Like a fresh, sunny Italian summer in a bottle, the Italian Bergamot or Citrus Bergamia is a bright, fragrant essential oil. Research points to bergamot essential oil's ability to reduce inflammation, lower cholesterol levels, and amp up your mood. It helps relieve anxiety and stress too.

How to use
Add a little drop to your tea for the earl grey flavour, or a few drops in your shampoo. It's known to help an irritated scalp. You can also use a teeny-tiny bit in your skincare routine to help with blackheads, acne and whiteheads. For a summer-y, fresh and wonderful diffuser moment, use this recipe: 4 drops of Peppermint oil 2 drops Italian bergamot oil 1 drop of Spanish cypress oil

Where is it sourced?
Extraction Method: Cold pressing of fruit peel. This very fragrant citrus fruit comes from the Reggio Calabria region in southern Italy. We extract the oil by cold pressing the fruit peel.

Caution
Never use any essential oil directly on your skin. Always dilute. Italian Bergamot oil can cause skin irritation or allergic reactions in some people. It can also cause photosensitivity, and should not be left on skin that will be exposed to sunlight.

Italian Bergamot oil should be diluted with 1 drop of Bergamot oil in a 10ml bottle, 8-12 drops in a 30 ml bottle. If ingesting, the ratio should be 1 drop of Italian Bergamot to about 100ml (3.5 oz) of liquid. You can add it to your tea for a calming brew. Best carrier oil pairing: Italian Bergamot oil blends well with avocado oil, grapeseed oil, and olive oil. It also goes well with other carrier oils such as coconut oil, jojoba oil, and sweet almond oil. But for best results, blend it with similar Mediterranean origin carrier oils.
