Bring colour back to your grays or white strands with a safe, natural,  plant-based solution - Henna!

This Soft Black Henna Blend powder can be used as a single step process, or as a second step after firstly applying Natural Henna, towards achieving a longer lasting, darker colour of your choice. For best results, see the guide on how to use.

Natural and plant-based Henna is derived from the leaves of the Lawsonia inermis plant. It stains the hair by penetrating the hair shaft so that the proteins of the plant pigments bind with the hair proteins.

This means that there will be no damage done to the hair. After a henna application, the hair shaft thickens and cuticle lift reduces which means that hair becomes stronger and healthier.

Henna contains antifungal and antimicrobial activities. It is beneficial to scalp that is flaky or irritated. This makes it more suitable to use as a hair colourant compare to chemical dyes that are more likely to cause allergic reactions to weak scalps.

Important Notes on Using Henna:

  • Pure henna has very low allergenic potential. However, in rare instance a person can be allergic to henna, so you can easily do a patch test if you are concerned. Simply mix a small amount of henna into a henna with hot water and apply it to a small patch behind the ear and bit andage for 4 hours. If you experience any itching, burning, or pain, remove the bandage and wash the area immediately. After that, wash off with water and observe skin for 24 hours for any redness or irritation. If you notice any irritation, you are allergic to Henna and so please do not continue to use the product.

  • If it comes into contact with your eyes, rinse with cool water and go and see a doctor if necessary.

  • If you are pregnant, consult a doctor before use.

  • If you have recently chemically treated your hair, such as a perm or colour, please wait for minimum of 4 weeks before using Henna. This is to avoid any form of chemical interactions. Chemical processes also damaged the hair cuticle so that the Henna result may be totally different.

  • Henna is a natural plant colour and it works by binding and depositing its colour on hair so our cuticle is intact and undamaged. It takes time for the process and can take up to hours. And depending on the type and hair texture, sometimes a re-application is necessary to get the colour you desired. But, this extra time is well worth your effort because longer exposure gives richer and longer staying colour.

  • If you have darker hair colour, Henna will not lighten your hair colour.

  • For a full head Henna colour, you can do so once in 4 to 6 weeks, or when necessary. But touching up on roots can be done easily in between.

  • The premixes are suitable for easy use of Henna. This is a one step process. However, depending on hair type and conditions of hair, sometimes, a reapplication is necessary. Henna colour continues to darken after its initial application and rinse off.

  • If you are intending to cover grey or whites, a two step process is recommended because grey or white hair can be challenging. But a two step process ensures a much better coverage. This entails a step one application of Henna, and a step two application of full Indigo to get a black colour, or a mixture of Henna and Indigo for a brown. I have an application procedure done up for the premixes as well as the two step process. Please refer to the usage guide (How To Use).

  • How much of the powder you need will depend on your hair length. If you have short hair up to chin, you will need 50g, shoulder length 100g. You can keep the unused Henna powder for up to 12 months in an airtight box. But it is worthwhile taking note that the fresher the powder, the better is the staining powder because Henna oxidizes when exposed to air.
